Borough of Queenscliffe
Local traders rather than the ultimate consumer were the target in this market analysis. Primary research included a questionnaire to 227 businesses in the Borough, plus personal interviews with key traders. Results were used in conjunction with relevant regional tourism analysis and economic development strategies previously developed for the Borough, and a ‘strategic advisory group’ was set-up comprising members of local businesses and government. Outcomes included
- a five-year business development strategy to strengthen businesses in Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale during off-peak periods (2007 – 2011)
- clear, evidence-based direction on strategic solutions, recommendations and implementation
